Nigeria has recently experienced a troubling rise in domestic staff violence, abuse, and security breaches, posing significant threats to families and households nationwide. Domestic workers, including house helps, nannies, cooks, and security guards, play an essential role in many Nigerian homes. However, the lack of proper regulation, profiling, training, and oversight in this sector has led to increased incidents of theft, assault, child abuse, killings and other security-related issues. Establishing the ASEI National Domestic Workers Bureau, a digital-driven platform, is highly crucial at this critical time of overwhelming security challenges to address and curb the growing threats of domestic staff violence and security breaches in Nigeria.
